Transition only affects the second clip. Solution One
This issue was resolved in the JSX script update released on July 7, 2025.
Make sure that the installed preset package uses a JSX version of 4.0 or higher. For more details, please visit:

You can check the JSX version by hovering over the preset pack thumbnail. This feature became available in Motion Bro plugin version 5.1.4. If you have Motion Bro 5.1.4 or higher installed and the JSX version is not displayed, try applying any preset and check the version again.

Transition only affects the second clip. Solution Two
If the JSX script version is up to date but the problem still occurs, it’s possible that you are using a single layer composed of several different pieces of footage. If you simply cut such a layer at the junction between two footages, this can cause issues with the overlap transition.
Not good
Make sure the first layer is a single footage, with enough duration after the cut.
Good
Transition only affects one layer
Before you apply the Overlap transition, make sure you have selected two layers in the timeline that you want to connect through the transition.
