Adding a regular preset to the timeline
This way, you can add any regular preset to the timeline that is not a video transition, for example, footage, motion design elements, sounds, etc.
- On the timeline, move the time indicator to the frame where you want to add the preset.

- Select a preset in the Motion Bro plugin and click “Apply.” The preset will be added by the time indicator.

Adding a transition preset to the timeline
You can use this method to add a video transition between two scenes.
- On the timeline, select the two layers between which you want to add a transition.

- Select a preset in the Motion Bro plugin and click “Apply.”

Mode for adding compact transitions
For some preset types, such as Overlap Transitions, there is an additional compact mode for adding presets.

If the Compact Mode is off, all layers related to the transition will be added to the current composition. The disadvantage of this mode is the bulky structure from several layers. The advantage is that you can replace the footage at any time or add any effects to the footage, and these changes are immediately displayed on the transition layers.

If Compact Mode is on, the transition will be added to the timeline as a single pre-composition layer (plus an audio layer if the sound effect is enabled). This has a convenient structure, but the downside is that if you replace the footage or add any effects to the footage, these changes will not be displayed on the transition layer.

Setting the duration of a transition preset
Before you add a transition preset to the timeline, you can change its duration. To do this, expand the Duration Bar and select the appropriate animation speed by clicking on one of the marks on the duration bar.
You can change the duration of a transition after adding it to the timeline. To do this, shorten or lengthen the duration of the layers related to the transition preset.

I bought the power warp transition, can you please help me with the depth map?
Hello i use AE facetool and when I want to apply after having done everything correctly I have the layer but nothing is actually applied to my video
I’m trying to apply an effect, and I can’t, a notification appears – This preset does not apply for After Effects – I’m on mac, after 2025 with motion bro 5.0.6
You are probably trying to apply a preset from a package designed for Premiere Pro.
When I add a Simple Transform transition to two video layers, it ALSO AFFECTS ALL layers below the two selected layers.
This would be fine if the two layers covered the whole screen, but they don’t now my layers below are affected also. It seems like your creating an adjustment layer, but this affects every layer beneath.
Is there a way to have the transition effect ONLY affect the 2 selected layers (without having to do this with the 2 layers precomposed with the transition)?
This is a normal situation, since the composition of the Cut transition you applied includes many adjustment layers. You can try to isolate the layers you want to apply the transition to in a precomp, and try to add the transition inside this precomp. Or use Overlap transitions – such transitions affect only two selected layers: https://motionbro.com/products/simple-slide-transitions-for-after-effects/
How to apply presets to multiple layers at once, random presets, random durations
Unfortunately, this is not provided in the current version. Perhaps in the next updates I will add such a function.
displays a legacy ExtedScript error
Could you please tell me more? Please send your message here: https://motionbro.com/contact/
Why is there no sound after I add transition presets in AE? But I can hear the sound in the preview screen?
Please install this additional free sound fx package: https://motionbro.com/products/motion-bro-sound-fx-pack/
